ClearSpan Structures was founded in 1979 by Barry Goldsher and Chuck Clark to supply local farmers, and it lists its headquarters in South Windsor, Connecticut. Manufacturing moved to a 60-acre campus in Dyersville, Iowa, which the company expanded with a 94,000-square-foot plant in a $10 million project finished in 2019. It describes thousands of projects across dozens of industries and treats aviation as one market among many, with design, manufacturing, financing and installation handled in house and shipping across North America from Iowa.

For aviation, ClearSpan sells Truss buildings with no interior columns and steel-beam buildings, both on triple-galvanized steel frames, up to 300 feet wide at any length, with fabric or metal cladding. Fabric choices are a translucent polyethylene cover that daylights the hangar and a seven-layer Armor Shield cover. It quotes a 50-year frame warranty and a 20-year fabric cover warranty, and says buildings can be engineered for local snow loads and at least 90 mph winds. Portable hangars pair the truss frame with a helical-anchor foundation so the building can be moved or expanded on the field.

Buyers can choose stock, turnkey or design-build projects, and ClearSpan offers concrete, helical-anchor and shipping-container foundations, which affects both cost and whether the hangar is treated as temporary. It says temporary structures generally carry little or no property tax, a point to confirm with the local assessor. It does not publish hangar pricing; quotes and literature are requested through its site. The aviation pages reviewed show a portable hangar project in Southwest Ranches, Florida, but do not name airport or FBO customers.
