About Colorado Aviation Business Association

The Colorado Aviation Business Association (CABA) is a grass-roots membership organization that promotes business and general aviation across Colorado. Its stated objectives are to communicate the economic value of business and general aviation, address legislative, safety and operational issues facing Colorado aviation businesses and airports, improve air access to rural communities, and fund training for future aviation professionals through the CABA Foundation. The site says CABA has grown in membership, activism and charitable work since 1994 but does not give a founding date or a street address. Members get a directory, newsletters, alerts and job postings.

Advocacy is the main reason an FBO joins. CABA keeps a dedicated legislative affairs professional at the State Capitol and reports that in the 2026 session it helped defeat HB26-1012, which it says would have imposed price controls on airport businesses, kept conflicting state OSHA rules from applying to aviation operators, opposed tax changes including the end of Colorado's conformity with federal bonus depreciation for aircraft purchases, and worked with NBAA on federal issues such as air traffic control modernization and remote tower funding. Events include an annual membership meeting, a golf tournament, a safety day, an educational series, static displays and Aviation Night Out socials.

The CABA Foundation scholarship requires Colorado residency, training at a Colorado institution and at least a year of CABA membership or volunteering; the 2026 deadline is October 31. CABA also runs a Rocky Mountain Metro group and an MSU collegiate chapter, and its December 3, 2026 holiday party at Wings Over the Rockies supports the VFW Airlift. Dues are not shown on the public pages; joining runs through the site.
