Derringer Aerospace

Derringer Aerospace Products Inc. designs, sells and manufactures aviation tow bars and ground support accessories from 400 N 10th St in Lake City, Minnesota. Its tow bars are marketed as hand crafted in the USA, and the site targets FBOs, flight schools and pilots. The company does not publish a founding year.

The flagship is the Sabre line of tug-type tow bars for FBO use, with a patented slide-and-latch design that lets one person hook up, a range of hitch options and universal nose-gear adaptors. Derringer also bought the Joybar tug-type line from Redi Haul Trailers and stocks Joy Bar 2000-SC parts. A Caliber line of collapsible hand-held tow bars is announced as coming soon. Other items include Stow & Go wheel chocks, DAS Series 2 to 4 ton axle stands, fly-away and 30 ft FBO jumper cables, oil drain pans and spark plug trays.

Derringer publishes prices online: the Sabre tug-type tow bar starts at $599.95, chocks start at $34.95, axle stands run $124.95 to $234.95 and the 30 ft FBO jumper cable starts at $179.95. Tow bar weight capacities are not stated, so FBOs should confirm aircraft fit with the company before ordering.
