Erect-A-Tube, Inc. lists its corporate headquarters in Harvard, Illinois, and its logo carries the line 'since 1963'. The company says it is employee owned, with 42 employees averaging 20 years of tenure, and that its salespeople are pilots. It reports more than 30,000 operating hangar units across all 50 states and several other countries, and says it pioneered the electric bifold hangar door. It also says half of its marketing budget goes to state aviation conferences and to AAAE, AOPA, EAA, state association and FAA regional events, which is where many airport managers meet it.

Its hangar line covers Nested T-Hangars, which tuck tail sections into the middle of the row so a 10-unit building runs about 100 feet shorter than the standard equivalent and needs less taxiway; Standard T-Hangars; and Rectangular Hangars sized from single-engine and light-twin aircraft up to the King Air 200 and small business jets, which can be joined in rows or built back to back. T-hangars use post-and-beam framing with an open-web steel truss over each door opening. Doors include its electric bifold, Roll-King LGR bottom-rolling doors up to 180 feet wide by 34 feet high, and endwall, self-contained and self-framed bifold systems for other builders' buildings.

Erect-A-Tube works with airport managers, municipalities, engineering firms, developers and contractors from concept to delivery, and publishes hangar dimension tables, an aircraft size chart and a product brochure for sizing a project. It also offers bifold door inspections and a door parts catalog for existing hangars, and manual rolling doors can replace electric bifolds on any model.
