Fulfab, Inc. was started in 1957 by civil engineer and pilot Robert Weinland, who built steel storage buildings in his garage in Canton, Ohio, before designing hangars for aircraft like his own Piper Twin Comanche. The company is still in Canton, now in its third generation, and says it works only on the design, manufacture and service of general aviation hangars. It reports supplying more than 12,000 hangar units in 44 states and Canada, and names publicly and privately held airports, fixed base operators, flying clubs, contractors, developers and individual pilots as customers.

The line has three families: Full-Nested T-hangars, a wider, shorter building that saves ground and taxiway; Standard Nested T-hangars, a narrower and longer layout for existing taxiways or restricted depths; and Clear Span rectangular hangars on open-web joists, which Fulfab says give about a third more floor space than typical T units. Its electric bifold doors come in 42 by 12, 44 by 14 and 48 by 14 foot clear sizes on nine standard models with a 1-horsepower operator and constant-pressure push buttons. A two-leaf manual sliding door at 42 by 12 feet is the lower-cost option on three models.

Buildings use post-and-beam framing to a standard 30 psf snow load and 115 mph basic wind speed, with heavier snow loads available. Fulfab says it can deliver sealed structural drawings within two weeks of an order, including an anchor bolt plan for the foundation design, and sends a factory representative for two days of on-site erection help; no field welding or painting is needed. Wall panels are 26-gauge Galvalume with a 20-year supplier warranty. It sells door parts and a bifold maintenance manual and does not publish pricing.
