Gallagher Aerospace & Aviation

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. was founded by Arthur J. Gallagher in Chicago in 1927 and, according to its press releases, is headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. It is a publicly traded brokerage that says it employs more than 71,000 people and serves clients in about 130 countries. Its aerospace and aviation practice, led by aerospace leader Eric Barfield, lists airports and heliports, ground service providers, MRO facilities, aircraft operators, flight schools, manufacturers and drone operators among its clients. The practice page names products and completed operations liability for repair and service facilities, airport liability for bodily injury and property damage arising from airport operations, workers' compensation, cyber liability including social engineering, and environmental liability for pollution claims. Consulting services include claims advocacy led by a former pilot with more than 25 years in aviation, aviation contract review, emergency response and business continuity planning, and crisis communication training. Gallagher also administers NATA's member programs: workers' compensation underwritten by Global Aerospace with a potential annual dividend, cyber insurance with E-Risk Services that names FBOs and airports as eligible, loss-of-license cover with Harvey Watt, and health and pilot life plans.

Gallagher does not publish premiums. FBOs reach the practice through a local Gallagher office or the NATA program pages, and the practice publishes a newsletter called Plane Talking on market trends. Its aerospace product menu otherwise focuses on light aircraft, owners, renters, flight instructors, flying clubs and drones. The aviation pages do not use the term hangarkeepers or describe hull programs for FBO-operated aircraft, so buyers should confirm those lines directly with the broker assigned to them.
