Genetec Inc. is headquartered in Montreal and says it started in 1997 as a small group of Canadian engineers. Its first product was Omnicast, an IP video surveillance system; it added Federation for linking remote sites in 2005 and launched Security Center in 2009 to run video, access control and automatic license plate recognition on one platform. The About page cites more than 25 years in business and about 2,200 employees, and its press boilerplate says it sells through accredited channel partners and consultants in more than 159 countries.

Its airport pages pitch Security Center as a way to combine security, operations and compliance in one system. In 2021 it added the Security Center Airport Badging Solution, which manages badge applications, background-check submissions and Rap Back identity checks inside the same platform, with dashboards for applicant status and unaccounted-for badges. Genetec pitched it as a lighter alternative to the large identity management systems used by big hubs. Customer stories name Tampa International, Montreal-Trudeau, Rome Fiumicino, Gimpo and Orlando Sanford, plus Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport, a commercial and GA field with an on-site FBO, where a small team runs video and access control from one interface.

Genetec does not sell direct or publish pricing; systems are designed and installed by certified integrators, such as Incline Technology at Southwest Wyoming Regional. Buyers start with a request to speak to an expert, and Genetec also offers grant guidance for U.S. customers, professional services, training and a technical documentation hub. For an FBO, Security Center is most relevant where the airport sponsor already runs it and tenant doors, gates and cameras can be added to the airport system.
