Hughey & Phillips

Hughey & Phillips, LLC is headquartered in Urbana, Ohio, and says it has served the safety needs of the transportation industry since the 1930s. It describes itself as part of a group of companies serving aviation, transportation, security and medical markets, without naming the parent. Its footer lists three operations: obstruction lighting in Urbana, an airfield unit branded H&P DME in Coral Springs, Florida, and H&P Manairco in Mansfield, Ohio. Beyond new equipment, it repairs and overhauls its own lighting controllers, fixtures and power supplies using factory-tested parts.

Its airport catalog covers the full electrical package for a GA runway. Visual aids include the AB-1000 LED L-801A(L) beacon, L-806 and L-807 wind cones, L-849I and L-849V LED REILs, L-880 and L-881 LED PAPIs and MALSR equipment. Lighting includes L-861 and L-862 LED elevated lights, L-804 runway guard lights, L-850 and L-852 in-pavement lights and a helipad floodlight, and signs come lighted or unlighted to L-858. Power and control gear includes L-828/L-829 constant current regulators, L-821 control panels, L-847 circuit selector switches, an L-854 FM radio receiver/decoder, L-830 transformers, L-823 connectors and L-867/L-868 light bases.

The obstruction side supplies low-, medium- and high-intensity lights for radio, television and communication towers, utility structures, wind turbines and tall buildings, with controllers that can run several beacons and sidelights at once. Technical support, guides and manuals, replacement parts, product catalogs and a returns form are on its site. It also sells an ATC signal light gun. Pricing is not published, and the site footer still shows a 2023 copyright.
