JRMA

JRMA was founded in 1982 by James R. Miller and lists its corporate office in Brea, California, with further offices in Houston and Portland, Oregon, and team members in San Carlos, Omaha and Lexington, Kentucky. The firm became 100 percent employee-owned in 2024 and says it has delivered about 5,000 projects across architecture, structural engineering, sustainable design and planning. Dan Bianco, AIA, is president and CEO and directs the aviation sector himself; his bio cites work with NATA, NBAA and AAAE. Much of the firm's other work is in solid waste, organics processing and food processing plants.

The aviation group focuses on general aviation: FBOs, MRO space, ground service equipment buildings, hangars, customs facilities and aviation museums, with more than 100 aviation projects completed over the past 30 years. Its portfolio names work for Signature Flight Support at Van Nuys and Dallas Love Field, Atlantic Aviation at Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston Hobby, Houston Intercontinental, Salt Lake City, Portland and Napa, Clay Lacy Aviation and Castle & Cooke Aviation at Van Nuys, Jet Aviation at Burbank, and Sky Harbour campuses at Orlando and Washington Dulles, plus CBP facilities at McKinney and San Bernardino.

Listed services run from conceptual design, planning and advisory work through visualizations, construction documents for all disciplines, bidding support, agency entitlements and approvals, code research and construction administration. Structural engineering is offered in-house alongside architecture, which matters for long-span hangars attached to a terminal. JRMA does not publish fees, and new projects start through its contact page. The project pages do not give square footage, cost or completion years for the aviation work.
