Kilfrost

Kilfrost is a family business at Albion Works in Haltwhistle, Northumberland, that says it pioneered aircraft deicing fluid in the 1930s and has more than 90 years in the field; R&D and its fluid test facility are on the same site. The aviation range is Kilfrost DF Plus (Type I, qualified to AMS1424), ABC-K Plus (Type II, AMS1428) and ABC-S Plus (Type IV, AMS1428), with datasheets behind a customer login; Clearway F1, SF3 and 6S are its formate- and acetate-based runway deicers.

For general aviation Kilfrost sells TKS 406B (AL-5 / DTD 406B / NATO S-745, to −60 °C, in 1, 5, 25 and 205-litre packs), RDF alcohol-based light-aircraft deicing fluid used undiluted and unheated, TKS 80 (alcohol-free, non-flammable) and TKS R328 in-flight fluid. It sells through "a carefully chosen network of distributors across the globe" without naming them, and its technical-support team offers fluid health checks, pre- and mid-season SAE analysis of customer samples and advice on refractive index and field viscosity. No US plant or distributor is stated.
