King Risk Partners

King Risk Partners was founded in 1974 by Malcolm King Sr. and is now owned and run by his son Chad King. It describes itself as one of the fastest-growing agencies among the top 100 U.S. brokers, with offices along the Eastern Seaboard from New Hampshire to Florida, including six in Connecticut. Optisure Risk Partners and its aviation brokerage Sutton James have joined King: the Sutton James page on optisure.com says the team has become King Risk Partners, and suttonjames.com now redirects to King's aviation page. The site does not name a headquarters office.

King's aviation brokers each hold an aviation degree and an FAA pilot certificate, and several worked earlier as underwriters, flight instructors, charter pilots or dispatchers. Its aviation page lists airports, hangars, aircraft repair and maintenance, manufacturers' products liability, workers' compensation, commercial property and general liability among the risks it places, alongside general aviation hull and liability. It says it has covered corporate flight departments for more than 30 years and helps clients review hangar leases. It also runs a Robinson helicopter program underwritten by Starr Aviation and places drone cover.

The team sits on the board of the Aviation Insurance Association, writes for The Aviation Consumer and Twin and Turbine, and presents FAA WINGS safety seminars. It says it tries to visit each corporate client every year. King does not publish premiums; quotes start from an online form or a call, and a Sutton James-branded online application is still used for drone policies. Its aviation pages never mention FBOs by name, so FBO buyers should confirm the airport-liability and hangarkeepers markets it uses.
