Minnesota Business Aviation Association

The Minnesota Business Aviation Association, founded in 1955 and based in Minneapolis, holds monthly meetings with FAA, NBAA and airport speakers, a Safety Day, a scholarship golf classic and Winterfest for the state's business aviation community.

About Minnesota Business Aviation Association

The Minnesota Business Aviation Association (MBAA) says it was founded in 1955 as an independent nonprofit to promote and protect business aviation, quoting its first president, Jim Magnus, on representing members' interests and furthering the safety and efficiency of business aircraft operations. It is a 501(c)(6) organization with an address on East 70th Street in Minneapolis and covers Minnesota and the upper Midwest. Its members operate aircraft at airports across the state, from Fortune 500 flight departments to small local businesses, and its About page names FBOs among the service companies that support them.

Its core goals are influencing laws and regulations affecting general and business aviation, educating policymakers and the public, keeping members informed on safety, regulation and technology, and promoting professionalism. Members get monthly meetings with speakers from the FAA, NBAA, the Metropolitan Airports Commission, manufacturers and educators; an annual Safety Day; a golf classic that raises scholarship money; and Winterfest, a January networking social that recognizes member contributions. Upcoming events include a volunteer evening at Second Harvest Heartland on November 10, 2026 and a Tree of Hope event at Atlantic Aviation's KANE location on December 5.

MBAA also offers professional development grants to eligible individuals, email newsletters and alerts, and access to the full member roster for business development. For an FBO in the Twin Cities, the monthly meetings and the roster are the practical draw, because they put line and sales staff in regular contact with the flight departments and airport officials that MBAA convenes. Its leadership page names Adam Erickson as president, and its join page publishes dues: $10 for students, $100 for individuals, associate memberships for service companies at $350 for up to seven people or $500 for up to 15, and corporate levels from $1,250 to $3,000.
