Powervamp

Powervamp Ltd, based at Wolseley Road in Kempston, England, was formed in 1994 by Richard Roller and is part of the ALVEST Group. It began with portable jump-start packs and developed a stainless steel pack for starting helicopter turbines. The company exports to 65 countries, employs over 60 people across two sites, and also serves automotive customers with jump starters, batteries and rental equipment.

The aviation range includes Coolspool 28V DC battery ramp carts, DC combination units, the JetGo 300 mini-diesel hybrid DC unit, DC aircraft start units at 12V, 24V and 28V, and DC power supplies from 30 A to 300 A that serve aircraft from small helicopters to large corporate jets. For AC power, 45/90 kVA 400 Hz converters and a TRU-2400 transformer rectifier unit are offered, and the Sidewinder cable carrier was developed with London Heathrow. The site notes FBOs as customers for its mini-diesel and converter products.

Powervamp does not publish prices. In North America, AERO Specialties Inc. of Boise, Idaho was appointed exclusive distributor for the portable DC range in the USA, Canada and Mexico in 2016 and added the fixed electrical ground power line in 2017; Powervamp has no US office listed. Lease and rental of AC and DC power equipment is also offered.
