Sundog Aviation Group

Sundog Aviation Group is a boutique aviation consulting firm at 3380 S. Bay Hill Drive in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. It helps flight and ground operations and fixed base operators improve their safety management systems. The business began in January 2014 under founder Jim Cannon; Jim Bennett and Bill McBride acquired it in January 2022 and renamed it Sundog Aviation Group. Bennett and McBride are the principal consultants. McBride spent 24 years at The Home Depot, where he oversaw a base operation and a fixed base operation selling fuel.

Services are IS-BAO and IS-BAH auditing, SMS development and implementation, and organizational consulting on structure, staffing and expense management for fractional and charter operators. Sundog says it is authorized to conduct both audits, that Bennett and McBride hold accreditation certificates, and that their FBO and ramp experience adds value to audits. Its IS-BAH client list runs from 2016 to 2025 and includes Jet Center Los Angeles, ACI Jet in Santa Ana and San Luis Obispo, Meridian at Teterboro and Hayward, Modern Aviation in Seattle and Denver, Signature Flight Support, Jet Aviation and Curacao Air Terminal Services.

Sundog notes that a client that has used its SMS consulting or conformity validation services may not be eligible for an audit by the same firm, because of IBAC's Audit Program Manual; Bennett or McBride can check eligibility with IBAC. The firm does not publish fees.
