Tokio Marine HCC Aviation Group

Tokio Marine HCC is a specialty insurer and a member of the Tokio Marine Group; it reports about 4,400 employees and more than 100 specialty products sold in over 180 countries and territories. Its Aviation Group lists offices on the Northwest Freeway in Houston, Texas, which is also the company's head office number; in Frederick, Maryland, home of the Avemco aircraft brand; and in Plano, Texas for USSIC. Michael Donovan is president of the Aviation Group. The site does not state when the aviation business began.

The airport product, written through USSIC Aviation, is pitched at clients from fixed base operators to individuals who own or lease hangar space, and covers municipal airports and private airstrips. Listed coverages are general liability, premises medical payments and hangarkeepers liability, plus products and completed operations liability for repair and service work, aircraft parts not installed, new and used aircraft sales, aviation fuel and oil sales and related products. Other aviation lines include Avemco owned and non-owned aircraft policies for pilots and owners, HC Aviation international fixed and rotor wing business, general aviation and specialty risks such as warbirds.

Tokio Marine HCC sells through agents and brokers and notes that some products are written on a non-admitted basis and are not covered by state guaranty funds. It does not publish rates. The Aviation Group also posts aircraft salvage information for its claims. Because the airport form names fuel and oil sales and aircraft parts not yet installed, it reads as written for FBOs that sell fuel and parts; buyers should ask their broker about the USSIC airport form.
