Westchester Aviation Association

The Westchester Aviation Association (WAA) focuses on corporate and general aviation at Westchester County Airport (HPN) and aims to strengthen the airport's aviation community through safety, education and outreach. Its board is drawn from the flight departments and businesses on the field. Chairman Pat Cunningham has been director of aviation at PepsiCo since 2006 and is a former NBAA board chairman; vice chairman Brian Smith is director of operations for Citigroup Aviation; and directors include leaders from Performance Flight and IBM's flight operations. The site does not give a founding date or a separate mailing address.

WAA organizes its work around four areas: the airport's economic value, safety and security (working with the FAA, TSA and local agencies), environmental issues such as quieter aircraft, and government relations at the local, state and federal level. Its signature event is the annual Safety Day, which brings HPN operators together for regulatory updates and operational briefings; the 2026 edition has already taken place. Its scholarships honor William R. Weaver, a 40-year aviation veteran and co-owner of Million Air White Plains, and support future pilots and maintenance technicians; the 2026 application window has closed, and the next opens in April 2027.

Membership is published at $35 a year for individuals, $200 for a business membership covering up to three people and $750 for a corporate membership covering up to six. For an FBO at HPN or a vendor selling to its tenants, the association is the local forum where the airport's corporate flight departments, flight schools and aircraft owners meet. WAA also accepts donations and recognizes its sponsors on the site.
