Hangar & Ramp Management Software
Hangar stacking, ramp planning, and hangar-lease management: layout tools that fit tonight's aircraft, tow and movement logging, occupancy and revenue reporting, and tenant lease tracking. These sit beside a full FBO system rather than replacing it.
Hangar software solves one expensive problem: fitting more aircraft into the space you have without touching wingtips. The core tools draw your hangars and ramps to dimension, place aircraft from a model database with real clearances, and let the night crew plan tonight's stack before the first tow. The better ones simulate the tow path itself, log every movement by tail number, and turn occupancy into billing-ready reports.
This is a different purchase from an FBO management system. AirPlx, Stax, HangarStack, and Fyve By do not sell fuel, run a point of sale, or keep the customer ledger — they run beside whatever does. HangarDirect is the other side of the same hangar: lease and tenant management plus a public marketplace for the space you have open. If you need the fuel-to-folio system, see FBO Management Software; the comparison page there has a table for these tools too.
When comparing: ask whether layouts are 2D or 3D, whether tow paths are validated against steering limits, how many aircraft models ship in the database, whether it runs in a browser or needs an installed app, and whether pricing is published. Several here do publish their plans; most FBO suites do not.

Questions about hangar & ramp management software
- What is hangar stacking software?
- Software that draws your hangar and ramp to real dimensions and lets you place aircraft — from a database of manufacturer dimensions — to plan how tonight's arrivals fit, with clearance checks so wingtips and tails don't meet. Products in this category include AirPlx, Stax, HangarStack, and Fyve By; most also log movements, schedule tows, and report occupancy.
- Does hangar software replace an FBO management system?
- No. These tools handle space, movement, and in some cases lease billing; fuel, point of sale, invoicing, and accounting stay in the FBO management system. AirPlx says so plainly on its own site and names FBO One and Total FBO as systems it sits beside. See FBO Management Software for the full-suite platforms.
- Which hangar tools publish pricing?
- HangarStack publishes a monthly LITE plan and a from-price for its Premium tier; Fyve By offers its stacking module free with paid tiers for its LiDAR Sky View hardware; Stax publishes its plan structure (annual, month-to-month, enterprise) without dollar figures; AirPlx and HangarDirect route to a demo. Prices are checked against the vendor's site on the date shown on each profile.
